Boo Ritson!

^ The tones in the skin on this piece look really cool! They aren't blended in and they don't reflect where the highlighting and shading is, but they look really cool all the same!

As you can see below, the technique she uses when painting is rather messy, like she doesn't mind if the paint goes over where it's meant to be. She also doesn't exactly blend, but instead just sort of seems to slap the paint on, adding other tones in that are quite obvious, like the pink below in the skirt and the white on the burger bun.

Boo Ritson coats her 'sitters' (the people she paints on) in high emulsion gloss paint...which leads me to the question, how did they get all that paint off?! When I painted Chloe with emulsion it was not only difficult but also painful for a Chloe when we were taking the paint off her skin. So I googled it and this itps what I found...

There are suggestions of using turps, exfoliation, oils, acid from citrus fruits, acetone (nail varnish remover) and barrier cream (such as E45). In my opinion, using barrier cream sounds like the best method, then obviously using the other techniques to get the paint off if the barrier cream doesn't work! So that's my weekend sorted, trying out these techniques to see which works the best.
